銆�Aiming to expand the Environment & Energy Business Domain as set forth in its long term plan 鈥淰ision 2015鈥�, Yaskawa Electric Corporation (鈥淵askawa鈥� Representative Director, Chairman and President: Junji Tsuda) has reached an agreement to enter into a contract with the owner of The Switch Engineering Oy (鈥淭he Switch鈥�), a Finnish Supplier of Components for Wind Turbines, to acquire all shares of The Switch, except The Switch鈥檚 own shares.

銆�Yaskawa and The Switch have developed a strong synergetic relationship after signing a collaboration agreement in September 2013 allowing both companies to distribute each other鈥檚 wind turbine generators and converters through their respective sales networks. The cooperation has proved beneficial for both companies, therefore Yaskawa has decided to acquire The Switch and utilize it as a key company in the Environment & Energy business that Yaskawa promotes. Yaskawa aims to become the leading supplier in the growing wind turbine market by taking advantage of its expanded product portfolio with its medium voltage converters and The Switch鈥檚 low voltage converters.

銆�With common technological strengths in motor and power electronics, we will offer revolutionary products and solutions to our customers for wind and tidal generation, as well as nautical and industrial applications.
